As North Lincolnshire’s only competitive swimming club, Scunthorpe Anchor attracts swimmers from all over the County to swim competitively and to reach their potential in the name of their Club. From age 7 upwards, children with the right skills and aptitude are signed to the club, and given the opportunity to train up to six days a week at the Pods and Riddings leisure centres. With consistent effort and dedication, our swimmers regularly represent Anchor at Yorkshire Counties, North East Regionals and even at National level.

The commitment of these young swimmers is matched only by the dedication of the coaches and support staff who work tirelessly to keep this important club running. As a sport, swim training is very time and cost intensive, with our top swimmers being coached 10+ hours a week. The cost of pool hire for our 100 swimmers across two sites is just covered by membership fees. For any additional expenditure we need to fund raise, so our parents and swimmers are constantly working on innovative ways to raise cash to protect the future of this club that has run since 1972.

One important source of fund raising is sponsorship since it not only brings in much needed revenue but also connects us with the community and helps spread the word to prospective new swimmers.
If you are interested in sponsorship there are packages for all pockets, from programme advertisements all the way through to main club sponsor.

Here are just some of the ways you can get involved:

Club trophies – many of our trophies date from the club’s early days and are showing their age. We would like to give them a deserved retirement in our trophy cabinet so that our current swimmers can be awarded new modern trophies that reflect the pride we have in them and their achievements.

Club kit – our swimmers will attend all ‘away’ meets wearing club kit which consists of top, shorts and hoody. Swimmers are also required to wear club tops poolside when receiving medals, and for any promotional photography.

Remembrance Meet –every year Scunthorpe Anchor hosts an inter-club competition on Remembrance Sunday at the Pods Leisure centre with around 400 swimmers taking part. Sponsorship options include main event sponsor, winning team trophy, medals, officials/helpers t-shirts, programme advertising, or even donating raffle prizes.

There are many other ways and means of sponsoring the club so feel free to contact us to discuss what might suit you best. Obviously we will be acknowledging your donation in all our social media and online outlets and in any other format that works for you.
